Kaelee Collins of 22News stopped by Durocher Florist in West Springfield, a Mother’s Day hot spot, and caught up with owner Heather Sullivan during the busy holiday weekend. Fresh flowers, including iris, tulips, daisies, roses, and many more spring varieties, filled the floral shop as a steady flow of customers purchased blooms for moms. Even softball coach Christopher Izzo came to Durocher Florist to pick up flowers for the team moms, who show their support and encouragement all season long.
According to the National Retail Federation, flowers and plants are the number one gifts for Mother’s Day, with a new spending record of $35.7 billion. Other sweet gestures like greeting cards, brunches, and dinners are still top ways to let Mom know you’re thinking about her.
